The stadium was constructed 2005 and as of May 2015, the stadium has two tiers which hold a capacity of 30,500. In addition to football events, the stadium occasionally hosts rugby union, hosting three matches in the 2015 Rugby World Cup, demonstrating its suitability to hold a large capacity of people which inevitably creates a noisy and busy environment. Other functions include Arena MK that holds an 850-cover ballroom and up to 2000 people for a sit-down dinner or awards ceremony, there is also a 128-bed hotel, gymnasium, restaurants and office buildings which circle the Stadium.
