The Customer
WHSmith is one of the most well known high street stores with a prominent presence in most major towns and cities throughout the UK. The company sells a wide range of media related products including music, video, books, magazines, stationary, gifts and maps through a network of over 600 stores.
The Challenge
WHSmith decided to outsource the management of their radio communications equipment throughout the UK and were seeking to appoint a Strategic Partner with the appropriate skills to work closely with the Loss Prevention Department. There was a wide variety of equipment in use, including in-store, and externally connected equipment which provided access to local Retail Business Watch Schemes.

The Benefits
Resound proposed an integrated solution including the technical support, administration and accounting of all equipment and services currently in operation. Additional new equipment which was fully compatible with the existing equipment was supplied where required. As part of the administration function a dedicated database was setup. In addition the existing radio licensing was reviewed and cost saving changes arranged with OFCOM.
Subsequently WHSmith appointed Resound their Strategic Partner to work with the Loss Prevention Department to advise, administer and support the day-to-day communication needs of all the stores as they arise.
